Steve Fendley, Executive Chairman

A co-founder of the company, Steve is responsible for managing 5-D Systems across all locations and programs. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University. He provides over 25 years of experience in the aerospace industry with a focus on unmanned systems development and fielding. Steve’s experience includes extensive overseas efforts in addition to the primary U.S. DoD focus. His industry experience includes engineering and management positions with defense contractors including Northrop Grumman, BAE Systems, Tracor Flight Systems, and Kratos Defense.

Kimberly Karnes, Vice President, Business Operations

Kim is responsible for the business operations of the company, and leadership of 5-D Systems across all locations and programs. Kim holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University Northridge in Business Administration and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Kim has been in the defense industry for 20 years and has extensive expertise in business operations, finance and contracts, and program management, specifically development programs. Her industry experience includes finance and management positions at BAE Systems.

Craig Tangedal, Vice President, Engineering

Craig is a co-founder of the company and has primary responsibilities for the engineering functions of the company.   Craig earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University and he brings over 35 years of experience in unmanned and manned aircraft systems and optionally piloted aircraft. Craig’s experience includes multiple unmanned platforms to include 5th Generation Aerial Target (5GAT), XQ-58A, BQM-177, MQM-178, BQM-176, QF-4, QF-106, and MQM-107E. He now spearheads the company’s systems and software engineering efforts. His industry experience includes engineering and management positions with defense contractors, including Honeywell Defense Avionics Systems, BAE Systems, and Tracor Flight Systems.

Win Keller, Director, Huntsville Operations

Win is responsible for Huntsville business execution and business development.  Win earned a Master’s degree in Project Management from Florida Institute of Technology, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northeast Louisiana University, and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Win is a retired U. S. Army colonel with over 24 years of acquisition and program management experience. His industry experience includes business development and capture management positions at The Boeing Corporation.
